This past April the citizens of Dallas were able to view works of art from galleries from all over the world. Approximately 80 different galleries made up the fifth annual Dallas Art Fair. The fair drew artists to Dallas from all over the world, with presenting countries including Japan, Scotland, England, Italy, and France. There was also plenty of local art, as well as support from local art institutions such as the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center.
This Art Fair brought a lot of visitors to Dallas; it also drew out the local art community. That’s exactly what it was supposed to do. Though not typically known for its creativity and artistic talent, Dallas does have a pretty strong art scene. For a long time, however, the talent in this community has remained largely hidden and isolated. It’s events like the Dallas Art Fair that serve to bring everyone out and to bring everyone together.
How to Store Art in Dallas Self Storage Units
At Assured Self Storage in DFW, we’re proud of our community. We know there is a wealth of talent and artistry out there and we love to see it celebrated! In honor of the artists in our community, we would like to offer a few tips on how to properly place art in self storage…
Our Duncanville self storage facility was recently featured in the latest Texas Self Storage Association publication. The article featured a community event, Police and Fire Department Appreciation Day, that our site managers Christine and Jacob Thurston came up with. The first event provided a free breakfast and donated items from other local businesses to show their appreciation for the officers of the Duncanville Police Department. That first event had over 40 police officers and staff show up for a delicious home cooked breakfast from Christine.
The Duncanville self storage facility continues to hold this monthly event and now includes both the Duncanville Police and the Fire Departments. The event currently draws over 60 people and has brought the business community and the city’s civil servants together.
